My Quant by GS ("the App") is an iOS application that provides Monte Carlo stock simulations, AI-powered market sentiment analysis, portfolio tracking, and financial news. This Privacy Policy explains what information the App collects, how it is used, and your rights.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and a securely hashed password. This information is stored in Google Firebase Authentication and is linked to your identity. It is used solely to authenticate you and enable account features such as sign in, password reset, and email updates.

Portfolio and Simulation Data

We store the ticker symbols you add to your portfolio and the results of Monte Carlo simulations you run. This data is stored in Google Cloud Firestore, linked to your account, and is never shared with third parties. You can delete this data at any time by deleting your account.

Ticker Symbols

When you run a simulation or load news, the ticker symbol you enter is sent to our backend server to fetch price data and news. Ticker symbols are not stored beyond what is saved in your portfolio.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To authenticate you and maintain your account
• To store and display your portfolio and simulation history across devices
• To send account-related emails such as email address verification
• To run Monte Carlo simulations and return results to you

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with advertisers or third parties.

3. Data Linked to Your Identity

The following data is collected and linked to your identity:

• Name
• Email address
• Portfolio tickers and simulation history

4. Third-Party Services

The App relies on the following third-party services:

• Google Firebase — user authentication and Firestore database. Firebase Privacy Policy
• Render — backend simulation server hosting. Ticker symbols are sent to our Render-hosted backend. No personal information is transmitted.
• Alpha Vantage — financial news and market data. No personal information is transmitted to Alpha Vantage. Alpha Vantage Privacy Policy
• OpenAI — AI-powered sentiment analysis. News headlines are sent to OpenAI's API. No personal information is included in these requests. OpenAI Privacy Policy

5. Data Retention and Deletion

Your account data is retained until you delete your account. You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time from Settings → Delete Account within the App. Deletion removes all data from Firebase Authentication and Cloud Firestore immediately.

6. Your Rights

• Update your name, email, or password at any time from Settings → Edit Profile
• Delete your account and all data at any time from Settings → Delete Account
• Contact us to request a copy of your data

7. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
